Consistent Performance Despite Minor Dip in Speed Cameron Johnson completed the 2025 UW Medicine Seattle Marathon in 2:41:14 with an average pace of 6:09 per mile. Notably, he secured the 2nd place in his M40-44 age division. Bursting out with a strong 6:03 minute first mile, he managed to maintain a steady pace throughout most of the race. His fastest split was clocked at 5:46 (mile 18), demonstrating a strong surge. The later miles saw a slight decrease in pace, particularly with miles 24 and 25 at 6:25 and 6:29 respectively. Positions improved steadily from 36th in the first mile to finishing 19th overall. Comparing this race to last years marathon, Cameron experienced a slight increase in his overall finish time, but still maintained competitive division positioning. Focusing on speed endurance for miles 24 and 25 could be beneficial for maintaining pace throughout the entire marathon, ensuring stronger finishes in future races.
