Consistent Start, Strong Finish, with Small Room to Elevate Nikita Smyrnov from Seattle, WA, ran the 2025 UW Medicine Seattle Marathon, completing the 26.2-mile race with an elapsed time of 2:32:29, averaging a pace of 5:49 minutes per mile. Nikita achieved an impressive early performance, holding a place within the top ten for half of the race, with significant improvement in division standing throughout. His split times between miles 1 and 6 were particularly strong, between 5:12 and 5:35 min/mile. A slight decline in pace was observed in the last third of the race, with the pace slightly dropping to the range of 6:02 to 6:46 min/mile. Nikita managed to maintain a top 10 standing overall with a final division and gender placement of 5th within the M25-29 category. Continuing to work on maintaining consistent pacing in the latter parts of the race may yield further improvements. Keep up the great work, Nikita!
