Consistent Pacing and Division Victory Jennifer Appleyard delivered an impressive performance in the 2025 Whidbey Island 5K. She claimed first place in her division, F55-59, with a strong overall time of 37:42. Notably, her pacing remained consistent throughout the race, maintaining an average pace of 12:09 min/mile. Each of her mile splits improved slightly from 12:26 in the first mile to 11:57 in the third. Her strategic pacing allowed her to maintain a stable position within the overall rankings. Comparing her current 5K performance to her previous 10K race at the 2024 Whidbey Island event, her average pace was slightly slower this time. While her pace consistency is commendable, continuing to work on gaining efficiency, especially in the initial miles, could yield even better results in subsequent races.
