Steady Progress and Strong Finish Nicholas Garofalo, age 23 from Seattle, showcased impressive endurance and strategy in the 2025 Whidbey Island Marathon, covering 26.2 miles with a finishing time of 3:35:38, achieving an overall pace of 8:13 min/mile. He placed 11th overall among 229 participants and notably excelled in his division, securing 2nd in the M20-24 category. Nicholas exhibited consistent improvement after the initial mile, marked by an increase in average pace efficiency, especially with a strong performance during miles 20 to 24, with splits as fast as 7:05 min/mile.
