Consistent Pacing and Division Victory Amy maintained a consistent pace throughout the 2025 Whidbey Island Half Marathon, clocking an impressive finishing time of 1:36:55, with an average pace of 7:23 minutes per mile. Notably, she secured the first-place position in her age division of F40-44. Starting with a strong 6:59-minute mile in her first split, Amy demonstrated solid pacing. Her fastest split was completed in 6:44 at mile 12, showcasing her ability to keep energy levels high towards the end. Amy's efforts placed her 5th in her gender category out of 612 participants, an excellent demonstration of endurance and strategy. Her steady performance in the top five positions secured her division win, with consistent split placements echoing her strong pacing skills. Incorporating more varied speed work into her training could help to reduce the variance in her split times, particularly noting her slower splits at miles 8 and 9.
