Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Ashley Tomlin #2187 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Ashley's Stellar Strides in the Half Marathon! Holy smokes, did you see Ashley out there? Talk about giving it the beans in the Zion Half Marathon! Ashley clinched a spot as the top female overall with a sweet finish time of 1:32:35, keeping a steady average pace of 7:04 min/mile. She held the lead from the start, where she clocked a first-mile split of 7:11, and then consistently pushed herself to finish each mile, never letting that pace slip too far from 7:00. Now that's some fine-tuned racing! She nabbed the top spot in her division (F30-34), and among the rock-solid field of 1404 competitors, she landed seventh overall. Her brilliant final mile time of 6:49 shows she had a little extra oomph in the tank! If Ashley keeps up this pace and maintains her mid-race rhythm, she'll have plenty of bark and bite left for her next race challenge. Keep those legs moving swiftly, Ashley!
