Strong Consistency with a Strong Finish Matthew showcased a remarkable performance at the 2025 Tenacious 10 in Seattle with a final time of 1:07:19 over 10.12 miles. His impressive 6:39 min/mile pace placed him 17th overall out of 348 participants. Starting strong, he opened with a solid 6:35 min/mile pace for the first mile. Notably, his pace remained fairly consistent throughout, never deviating more than 21 seconds from his opening split. As the race progressed, Matthew moved up several positions. By the 9th mile, he managed a speedy 6:30 min/mile, which was his fastest split, allowing him to improve to 7th overall temporarily. Though finishing the 10th mile at 6:28 min/mile, he ended in 17th place but showed substantial potential as he maintained good overall pace and division positioning, finishing 4th in his age group. Focusing on maintaining speed through the mid-race could optimize future performances.
