Consistent Pace and Strong Finish! Andre Silva, competing in the 2025 Savannah Southern Half Marathon, exhibited remarkable consistency throughout the race. With an average pace of 6:03 min/mile, he maintained a steady rhythm, which allowed him to clinch the top spot in his M35-39 division. Starting strong with a 6:06 min/mile first mile, Andre picked up the pace in the third mile, clocking in at 6:00 min/mile. Despite a slight slowdown in the fourth mile, he regained speed in subsequent splits, marking his fastest mile at 5:55 near the end. Finishing with an official time of 1:19:16, Andre placed 8th overall out of 2879 participants and 8th in the male category. Noteworthy was his ability to improve his overall and gender placement in the latter stages of the race, moving from 13th at mile 4 to 8th by the finish. Focusing on maintaining pacing consistency early on could enhance his overall competitiveness even further.
