Description

  • Marathon

The REVEL Canyon City Marathon course offers the best of the San Gabriel Mountains and Angeles National Forest, including breathtaking views of beautiful Azusa Canyon, San Gabriel and Morris Reservoirs, and the San Gabriel River. If that were not enough, the course is almost all downhill on a paved highway and is a Boston Marathon qualifier!

The Marathon begins roughly 25 miles up Highway 39 at the historic Crystal Lake Cafe. Runners will make their way down Crystal Lake Road for two miles before connecting onto Highway 39 (San Gabriel Canyon Road). Participants will remain on Highway 39 for the next 23 miles, most of the way enjoying a perfectly smooth downhill grade. Along the way they will have views of the San Gabriel Valley and beautiful mountain scenery.

After leaving the canyon runners will continue running south on Azusa Ave, enjoying the majestic view of the palm-lined streets. With just under two miles to go the course turns east on 9th St and continues to Palm Dr, where runners will once again be engulfed by enormous palms on either side of the road. The course finishes with a quick run down Foothill Blvd into the heart of Azusa, where the finish line is located adjacent to Azusa City Hall.

  • Half Marathon

The REVEL Canyon City Half Marathon course offers the best of the San Gabriel Mountains and Angeles National Forest, including breathtaking views of beautiful Azusa Canyon, San Gabriel and Morris Reservoirs, and the San Gabriel River. If that were not enough, the course features a net elevation loss of nearly 1,000 feet, allowing for a perfect PR opportunity!

The Half Marathon begins roughly 11 miles up Highway 39 at the Off Highway Vehicle recreation parking area. Runners will make their way down Highway 39 for the next 11.5 miles, most of the way enjoying a perfectly smooth downhill grade. Along the way they will have views of the San Gabriel Valley and beautiful mountain scenery.
