Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Alden Kruse #136 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

Top-3% Finish, Big Negative Split, Strong Descent 4:49:15 for 26.29 miles at 11:00 pace. 21st of 918 overall, 19th gender, 6th 20-24. Climbed from 6303 ft to 14062 ft, hitting the summit at mile 13.36 in 3:06:18. Early speed showed with 6:32 pace to Ruxton and 7:31 to Hydro Street, briefly up to 3rd overall. Descent covered 12.93 miles in 1:42:57 at about 7:58 pace, including long stretches at 7:17 to 7:43 and a 6:46 close. Paces from 11.41 to 13.36 miles were 20:04 to 22:35 as altitude rose. Coaching notes: smooth the effort from A-Frame to summit to reduce fade, and continue honing downhill skills to sustain late-race position.
