Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Will Locascio #230 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

Division Win with Top-12 Overall and Fast Closing Splits 4:39:11 for 26.29 mi (10:37/mi). 12th/918 overall, 11th gender, 1st O20-24. Started 259th, moved to 19th by 1.23 mi, 17th at Barr Camp (1:21:45), reached the 14,062 ft summit at 2:56:54 in 12th. Above treeline, paces ranged 15:08-19:58 from A-Frame to summit, with position held near 12th. On the descent: 0.526 mi in 6:38 (place briefly 4th), 2.85 mi at 7:05 to Top of W's, 1.97 mi at 6:51 to Hydro Street, and a final 0.8 at 5:50 to finish. Consider smoothing the mid-descent section near Barr Camp return (0.86 mi at 11:16) and maintaining rhythm from 12.3-13.36 mi where pace was 17:17-18:28 to turn late speed into earlier gains.
