Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Jordan Kauffman #167 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

2nd in O35-39, 18th Overall, Fast Return After 14,062 ft Summit Jordan covered 26.29 miles in 4:45:19 (10:51/mi), climbing from 6,303 ft to the 14,062 ft turnaround at mile 13.36 in 3:06:38. He moved from 57th at the start to 18th overall (out of 918) and 2nd in O35-39. As altitude increased, uphill paces slowed from 15:46 to 21:10 between 10.84 and 13.36, then the descent featured surges: 1.86 miles at 5:52/mi (18.81 to 20.67), 0.80 at 5:59 to the line. Positions improved from 25th at the summit to 17th by 20.67, finishing 18th. Coaching note: consider targeting steadier effort from A-Frame to summit (splits 15:46-21:10) to reduce place loss there, while preserving the strong downhill rhythm shown after Barr Camp.
