Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Bayden Menton #191 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

Third Overall with Late-Race Acceleration Bayden Menton finished in 4:15:05 for 26.29 miles (9:42/mi), 3rd of 918. Start 6303 ft to summit 14062.7 ft at mile 13.36, roughly 7759 ft of gain. Opened fast to Ruxton in 2:50 (6:36/mi), settled in 5th through Barr Camp. A-Frame at 1:56:24 (mile 10.29); A-Frame to summit took 50:12 for 3.07 miles (16:22/mi), reflecting the high-altitude section. Descended with building speed: 8:09, 7:34, 6:58, then 7:27 pace, and a 1.86-mile segment at 5:08 pace to 20.67 miles, moving into 3rd and holding to the finish. Final 0.80 miles at 5:40 pace. Coaching notes: continue refining efficiency between miles 10-13 to limit slowdown, and consider initiating the post-Barr Camp turnover slightly earlier when terrain allows.
