Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Cody Cook #129 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

Top-20, 2nd Masters, sub-3:00 summit and fast closing miles 4:47:58 for 26.29 miles (10:57/mi). Moved from 36th at the start to 10th by Barr Camp (1:19:56). Summit at mile 13.36 reached in 2:58:47 at 14,062 ft. Paces from mile 10 to the summit ranged 15:11 to 19:34/mi. Finished 20th of 918 overall and 2nd Masters. Descent opened at 12:21/mi, then held near 9:12 to 8:32/mi around A-Frame, improving to 6:26 to 7:21/mi below Barr Camp; final 0.80 at 6:20/mi. Positions fluctuated (12th just below the summit to 20th by Barr Camp return). To tighten the result, focus on steadier effort from A-Frame to the summit and reinforce technical downhill between A-Frame and Barr Camp return.
