Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Lucas Gauthier #122 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

Top-15 Finish, Division Podium, Fast Descent After High Summit 4:41:46 for 26.29 miles (10:43 pace). Summit at mile 13.36 in 2:56:56 at 14062 ft after starting near 6303 ft. Progression: 26th at start, 7th at Barr Camp (7.91 mi, 1:19:15), 13th at summit, 15th of 918 at finish; 3rd in O20-24. Climb metrics: from A-Frame (10.29 mi, 2:01:40) to summit, paces ranged 15:43-19:35 and position slipped 11th to 13th. On descent you accelerated: 11:34 to 7:58 pace back to A-Frame, then 6:16-7:27-6:48-6:43 in the closing segments. Aim for steadier effort across miles 10-13 above tree line and continue refining footwork on steep, rough sections to convert downhill speed into more late-race gains. Year over year: improved overall place from 26th (2024) to 15th.
