Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Cameron Powell #156 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

Efficient climb to 14,062 ft and high-speed return, 2nd in division Time 4:52:39 for 26.29 miles (11:07 pace). Reached the 14,062 ft summit at mile 13.36 in 3:06:07 after roughly 8,000 ft of gain. Finished 2nd in O16-19 and 23rd of 918 overall. Opening splits: 0.43 mi at 7:22 pace; next 0.8 mi at 8:42; Barr Camp segment 6.68 mi at 10:57. Above 12,000 ft, climbing paces ranged 17:16-20:36 to the summit. Descent featured 11:51, 9:07, 8:26, and 7:51 segments, then a fastest sustained 1.86 mi at 6:09; later 2.85 mi at 7:42 and 1.97 mi at 7:06; final 0.8 mi at 6:33. Consider nudging the sub-7 pace earlier on the return for additional time gains.
