Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Canaan Vallejos #114 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

Division Win and Sixth Overall with 7:24/mile Descent 4:28:06 for 26.29 miles (10:11/mile). Summit reached in 2:52:25 at mile 13.36 (14062 ft), averaging 12:54/mile uphill. Positioning: Start 23rd to Ruxton 19th to Hydro 21st to Barr Camp 14th to A-Frame 8th to Summit 7th. Finished 6th of 918 overall and 1st O35-39. Descent split 1:35:41 for 12.93 miles (7:24/mile), highlighted by 5:42 pace at 7.8 Summit - Return, 6:55 through Top of W's - Return, 6:45 to Hydro Street - Return, and a 4:05 final 0.80 (5:07/mile). Improved from 7th at the summit to 6th at the finish. For next time, tighten miles 10-13 (14:06 to 18:52) and the Ruxton to Hydro segment to limit position loss.
