Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Kyle Lund #116 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

Age-Group Win and Top-11 Overall with Fast Finish 4:36:20 for 26.29 miles (10:30/mi); top-11 of 918 and 1st O30-34, 10th Open. Summit reached at mile 13.36 in 2:53:37 (14,062 ft); descent 1:42:43. Climbed from 77 at the start to 6th by Barr Camp (7.91 mi in 1:18:05, 10:18/mi). Above treeline, paces were 14:51-19:45 from 10.84 to the summit. On the return, strong speed with sub-8:00 segments, including 1.86 mi at 6:20/mi and the final 0.80 mi at 6:17/mi; 2.85 mi at Top of W's in 22:01 (7:43/mi). Position peaked at 6th shortly after the summit and closed 11th. Coaching note: consider targeting steadier effort from A-Frame to Barr Camp on the descent to hold position, as that section slowed to 11:55/mi.
