Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Ezra Merrill-Triplett #108 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

7th Overall, 16-19 Winner, Fast Descent After 14,062 ft Summit Finish 4:29:27 for 26.29 miles (10:14 pace). 7th of 918 overall, 1st in 16-19. Climbed from 14th at start to 7th by 0.43 mi. Reached the 14,062 ft summit at mile 13.36 in 2:55:48, gaining about 7,759 ft. Paces on miles 10.84 to 13.36 ranged 14:09 to 19:39, arriving 10th at the summit. Descent in 1:33:39 with multiple sub-7 splits: 0.90 mi at 6:59, 0.55 at 7:19, 1.52 at 7:27, a fastest 1.86 mi at 5:50. Moved to 6th by mile 20.67, held through 23.52, then closed 0.80 mi at 6:48 to finish 7th. Coaching note: sharpen pacing from A-Frame to summit to limit 17-20 min miles, and continue honing technical downhill to better maintain late-race position.
