Date: Sept. 21, 2025 Participant: Victor Jimenez #309 Race: 2025 Pikes Peak Marathon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Nice running temperatures. A large snow/hail/rain storm in the late afternoon. Overall it was a great day for a trail run.

High Summit Reached, Rapid Descent Splits Finished 26.29 miles in 7:19:38 (16:43 pace). Climbed from 6,303 ft to 14,063 ft, reaching the summit at mile 13.36 in 4:21:12. Early climb: Barr Camp (7.91) at 1:53:38; A-Frame (10.29) at 2:57:25. Above treeline, paces from 10.84 to 13.36 slowed to 22:18 to 31:04. Downhill highlights: 18.81 to 20.67 mi at 9:05 pace; 23.52 to 26.29 mi at 9:33 pace, with a 2.85 mi segment at 10:59 pace. Prior year at 15.28 mi: 3:09:25 (12:23 pace); this year 15.31 mi: 5:03:55. Coaching notes: refine power-hiking for miles 10-13 and practice rocky, steep descents to bring sub-11 paces earlier on the return.
