Consistent Progress and Strong Finish at High Elevation Jacob Murdock completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in an elapsed time of 4:38:51, covering a challenging distance of 13.36 miles with an average elevation gain resulting in an overall pace of 20:52 min/mile. As he worked through the race, Jacob saw a significant improvement in his positioning, jumping from 1656th overall at the start to 750th by the finish. Notably, his placement improved in the division from 76th at the start to finishing 55th. Jacob showed notable consistency after "Ruxton," where he reached a pace of 10:15 min/mile. He maintained upward momentum, significantly improving his place between the "2 Miles To Go" mark where he was 827th to the finish. The final ascent saw him maintain a strong effort, concluding with a pace of 25:07 min/mile. Further strides in maintaining even splits and pacing, especially in the race's last challenging miles, can further enhance Jacob's performance in future runs.
