Steady Ascent with Consistent Splits Danny Kumpf completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 4:40:42, covering 13.36 miles at an average pace of 21:00 minutes per mile. Climbing from 6303 feet to 14061 feet, Danny showed resilience in the higher altitude. Notable times include a 9:12 split pace at Ruxton and maintaining sub-20-minute miles up until Barr Camp. Danny gained ground significantly after "1 Mile To Go," jumping 26 places overall. Danny experienced fluctuations in pace as expected due to altitude challenges. The most demanding portion started around "Bottomless Pit," where the split pace slowed to 24:49. By the finish, the pace had decreased to 26:48, indicating the difficulty of the last stretch. Although Danny's overall rank settled at 773, a strong finish in the Open division (56th in O25-29) reflects solid endurance. Future races could benefit from targeted training on similar terrain to further enhance pacing consistency.
