Consistent Performance with Progressive Challenges Caroline Raab tackled the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the half marathon in 5:33:19 with an overall pace of 24:56 min/mile. Her splits reveal fluctuating paces, notably starting strong at Ruxton with a 9:54 min/mile pace. Challenges emerged after No Name Creek, as splits varied, peaking at a 37:04 min/mile pace from the last half mile to the finish. Compared to 2024, Caroline's time increased by over 30 minutes. While her placement in her division (F30-34) was consistent at points, ranking improved notably around the 1.5 miles to go mark before finishing. Areas to focus on could be sustaining pace after Hydro Street and strategizing for the high-altitude sections above Barr Camp, which showed slower paces. Exploring hill and altitude training might enhance endurance and maintain consistency in future races.
