Consistent Elevation Gain Performance Marzena Matecki, a 37-year-old from Colorado Springs, CO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an impressive time of 4:50:40, covering a total distance of 13.36 miles. Marzena's overall pace was 21:45 minutes per mile, and she finished 250th among female participants and 50th in her F35-39 division. Examining Marzena's splits, a notable performance was seen early on as she quickly improved her position from 1666th at the start to 520th at the Ruxton split with a pace of 8:52. Her uphill trend continued, although, predictably, the split times lengthened as the elevation increased. From the A-Frame split, located at 11,933 feet, Marzena held steady, navigating the final stages of the elevation climb effectively, finishing strong at 14,061 feet. Potential for improvement lies in maintaining a steady pace in the late stages, especially noticeable after the "A-Frame", where elevation gain posed increased resistance.
