Consistent Climb in Challenging Conditions Alaina Newell from Littleton, CO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon in 4:43:30, with an average pace of 21:13 per mile. Notably, her performance elevated her from 1223rd at the start to an impressive 802nd overall finish out of 2049 runners, demonstrating her steady progression throughout the race. Her ascent included significant improvements, reaching as high as 655th overall at Hydro Street. During particularly challenging sections above the tree line, Alaina's pace naturally slowed. The steepest sections saw her pace at 27:49 min/mile from A-Frame and 29:30 min/mile with 1 mile to go.
