Consistent Climb: A Steady Effort Up Pikes Peak In the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, Trey Culbertson displayed remarkable consistency over the challenging elevation gain from 6,303 feet to 14,061 feet. Completing the 13.36-mile half marathon with an elapsed time of 5:08:31, Trey maintained an overall pace of 23:05 min/mile. Starting strong near Ruxton with a brisk split pace of 9:16 at the 0.43-mile mark, he effectively managed the ascent as the course steepened. Notably, he finished 33rd in his division (O55-59) among 2049 participants. Trey's pace demonstrated a disciplined approach, with more consistent splits midway through the race. Overcoming the high-altitude stretches, he managed a split pace of 27:53 between A-Frame and 2.5 Miles To Go. The most taxing section occurred between 1 Mile To Go and the finish, where his pace extended to 40:10. Consider focusing on this segment in future training for further efficiency in altitude adaptations. Great effort throughout the race!
