Improved Mountain Acclimation and Time Reduction Noted CJ Arroyo demonstrated commendable progress at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, finishing the half marathon with an elapsed time of 4:31:18. This represents a time improvement of 2 minutes and 46 seconds from the previous year's event. Notable performance highlights include a strong start, with the initial 0.43-mile pace clocking in at 9:31 min/mile. Throughout the 13.36-mile race, CJ maintained an overall pace of 20:18 min/mile, demonstrating considerable endurance. Particularly commendable was CJ’s performance at high elevations, where conditions often become challenging. The final mile, spanning from 13,329 to 14,061 feet, was completed with remarkable pacing amidst the taxing altitude. The challenging stretch from A-Frame at mile 10.29 to the finish line saw CJ manage the increasing difficulty, with splits showing adept adjustment to the thinning air. CJ concluded the race 40th in the O50-54 division out of a field of 2049. Continue honing the pacing strategy in high-altitude sections for even more gains.
