Consistent Climb with Strategic Steady Performance Zebulon Kimball, 33, from Apo, US, delivered a consistent performance during the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, finishing the half marathon race in 3:43:13. His pace was steady throughout the 13.36-mile course, maintaining an average pace of 16:42 min/mile, and ending at 240th place out of 2049 participants. Especially notable is his ascent from the start at 825th place overall to breaking into the top 250 by the finish. Zebulon effectively managed the climb from 6303 to 14061 feet. Performance metrics show a strong start, clocking an impressive 8:14 pace on the first 0.43-mile Ruxton split, where he rapidly ascended to 322nd place overall. Throughout the race, his rankings improved progressively, with a solid pace of around 14-15 min/mile until the 7.8 Summit marker. Although the final challenging miles resulted in a gradual deceleration, pacing at approximately 22-23 min/mile, Zebulon showed resilience and climbed in gender and division placements. Continuing to build endurance for high altitude segments would be beneficial for future ascents.
