Consistent Effort Despite Increased Challenge Christopher Aunan completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in an elapsed time of 4:09:05, maintaining a solid effort over the 13.36-mile course at an average pace of 18:38 min/mile. Starting strong with a rapid first quarter-mile at a pace of 8:23 min/mile, Christopher maintained a steady progression through to Barr Camp at 7.91 miles. At this point, he was placed 270th overall. Despite gaining elevation rapidly, moving from 6,303 feet to 14,061 feet above sea level, he showed tenacity by keeping a consistent pace despite challenging conditions. Notably, the last few miles above the tree line posed significant difficulty, with paces extending to 27:52 min/mile and 28:35 min/mile over the final miles. Compared to the previous year’s event, Christopher's pace experienced a slight increase, but he continues to be competitive within his age group. Further enhancing his training on high-elevation segments may lead to improved performances in future races.
