Consistent Performance at Increasing Elevations David Spackman, aged 61 from Ogden, UT, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with a time of 4:24:28 over 13.36 miles, averaging a pace of 19:47 min/mile. Notably, he ranked 17th in his division of ages 60-64. Starting strong, David was ranked 39th and improved to 16th place in his division by Ruxton. David steadily advanced throughout the race, indicating a well-paced strategy in the earlier stages of steep ascents. The final miles were challenging as expected, particularly above the tree line. From the '2.5 Miles To Go' mark, the pace shifted to over 25 min/mile, and the split time reached 29:15 min/mile near the finish at an elevation of 14,061 feet. It's noteworthy that David managed a steady effort at higher altitudes and finished strong despite significant elevation changes and increasing fatigue.
