Consistent Effort Despite Challenging Ascent Deborah Elliott completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 5:06:47 with an average pace of 22:57 min/mile. Throughout the course, Deborah navigated a significant elevation gain, starting at 6303 feet and peaking at 14061 feet. Her performance was marked by a consistent effort across splits, with notable endurance and persistence. Deborah's position improved late in the race, moving from 1231st at Barr Camp to finish 1046th overall. Analyzing her split times reveals some areas to focus on for future races. She maintained a steady pace up to Barr Camp, but times began to noticeably slow after that. Particularly challenging splits were from A-Frame to the finish, slowing to a 33:06 min/mile pace by the end. Improving endurance in high-altitude sections can enhance performance on similar courses. Consistency in early to mid-race segments suggests potential to develop greater efficiency over varied terrain.
