Consistent Pace and Strategic Climbing Amidst Pikes Peak Challenge Connor McKinney delivered a steady performance in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, finishing the 13.36-mile race in 4:31:44. Starting strong, Connor moved from 1157th place to 460th by the Ruxton checkpoint, posting a pace of 8:42 min/mile. By Hydro Street (1.23 miles), he maintained a promising pace of 10:12 min/mile and improved his overall standing to 383rd. Notably, his ascent from 7.8 Summit to Barr Camp showed a notable split pace increase to 12:40 min/mile over 1.86 miles. As the elevation increased, with significant climbs from Barr Camp (10,250 feet) onward, Connor adapted effectively. Despite a natural slowdown towards the race finish, his time on the final stretch was consistent, covering the last mile from 1 Mile To Go to the Finish at a pace of 29:29 min/mile and ending at 14,061 feet elevation. Solid performance amidst increasingly challenging inclines demonstrated Connor's resilience and capacity for sustained effort.
