Steady Improvement with Consistency in Tough Conditions ZimroD Flores completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 4:24:01, covering the 13.36-mile course with an average pace of 19:45 per mile. Starting from an initial overall placement of 1358, Flores steadily advanced through the field, ultimately improving to 590 by the finish. His performance in the 40-44 age division was consistently solid, beginning at 112th place and moving up steadily to conclude at 57th. The ascent presented increasing challenges in terms of elevation and leg fatigue. From the start at 6303 feet, ZimroD reached a peak elevation of 14,061 feet. Notably, the split at "A-Frame" covering 1.52 miles took 37:10 with a pace of 24:27 as Flores approached the most difficult portion of the course above the tree line. Particularly commendable was his ability to maintain focus and execution while managing pace well during the final 2.5 miles as elevation demanded increased effort and strategy.
