Consistent Early Pace, Challenging Finish Denver Strong completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 4:57:49, achieving an overall place of 962 out of 2049 participants. Starting at an elevation of 6303 feet, Denver maintained a solid early pace with the first split at Ruxton clocking in at 8:24 min/mile, which positioned them 370th overall. They continued to perform steadily, reaching No Name Creek at about 1:02:15, running at an approximate pace of 15:34 min/mile. As the elevation increased over the final miles, particularly after A-Frame at 11933 feet, the splits grew noticeably slower. The "1.5 Miles To Go" marker saw an increase in split pace to 48:22 min/mile, indicating the altitude's challenging impact. Denver finished the ascent at 14061 feet with a final split of 31:07 min/mile. Efforts in maintaining a paced start were commendable, and focusing on late-race elevation adjustments could foster improved endurance in future high-altitude events.
