Significant Improvement on a Grueling Ascent Danny Royalty delivered a commendable performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon, completing the 13.36 miles in 4:02:46. This marked an improvement of 36 minutes and 52 seconds from his previous finish in 2024. His average pace improved significantly from 20:55 to 18:10 min/mile, signaling progress in his conditioning for high-altitude running. Starting from an overall placement of 1151th at the beginning, Danny climbed adeptly through the field, finishing 378th out of 2049 participants. Throughout the ascent, Danny demonstrated strategic pacing. Notably, his swift initial split to Ruxton at a 9:49 min/mile pace allowed him to improve his position early on. While the challenging final miles saw a slower pace of 25:52 min/mile, his overall performance showed resilience and determination. Continuing to refine his pacing strategy for the steep elevation gains and adjusting for high-altitude challenges could lead to further improvements in future races.
