Brent Hannibal's Strategic Ascent at Pikes Peak Brent Hannibal from Colorado Springs completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 4:03:25, averaging an 18:13 min/mile pace over the 13.36-mile course. Starting strong, Brent ranked 37th overall at the beginning. He experienced notable position changes early on, moving to 555th at Ruxton (0.43 miles) before gaining momentum and consistently improving to place 383rd at the finish out of 2049 total participants in his division. Brent’s pacing strategy showed strengths in the midsection of the race, marked by a significant improvement between "7.8 Summit" at 6.05 miles to "Barr Camp" at 7.91 miles, clocking 14:09 and 14:21 min/mile respectively. However, the last three miles presented challenges, with pace slowing to 28:42 min/mile by the finish, particularly above the tree line. Future focus on maintaining stamina and speed during intense climbs could further enhance performance in high-altitude conditions.
