Steady Climb Amidst High Altitude Adventure Marcel Templet completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon in 4:48:58. The course featured a significant elevation gain, starting at 6,303 feet and finishing at 14,061 feet. Marcel's strong start was evident from the "Ruxton" split, where he covered 0.43 miles with a swift pace of 8:54 per mile. This helped move him from the 1608th overall place to 530th. He maintained a steady pace as elevation increased, marking a notable performance at the "No Name Creek" at 8,733 feet with a split time of 25:56 over 1.28 miles. The last three miles were particularly challenging, given the high altitude and rugged terrain. Marcel's splits showed a progressive slowdown with a split pace of 34:22 at the finish, revealing the tough conditions faced at altitude. Overall, Marcel navigated this ascent efficiently while adapting his pace to the grueling demands of the final high-altitude segments.
