Steady Persistence Amidst Altitude Challenges Elisabeth Archibald completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:30:29. Her overall pace was 24:44 min/mile for the 13.36-mile course with an elevation increase from 6000 to over 14,000 feet. Starting strong, she was initially placed 167th overall and 3rd in her F45-49 division at the start mark. As the race progressed, a decrease in positioning became notable around the halfway mark. Despite this, she tackled the steepest and highest-altitude sections with determination. The first few segments of the race showed Elisabeth's competitive edge with split paces under 20 minutes per mile. However, the most daunting climb near the finish saw paces extend to 36:31 per mile. Her ascent into higher altitude saw her regain position toward the end, aided by her resilient spirit. Analyzing these sections could be key to enhancing future endurance and high-altitude performance.
