Consistent Improvement on Pikes Peak Brooke Pezdirtz completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:43:25, reducing her previous year's time by over 12 minutes. Starting strong at Ruxton, her pace was an impressive 9:11 min/mile. Compared to the overall pace of 25:42 min/mile, this was a marked early effort. The subsequent long climbs showed expected slowing, particularly from Barr Camp onwards, where higher elevations introduced a significant challenge. At "Bottomless Pit," pace dipped to 48:29 min/mile, though her early strong performance retained competitive positioning. Her strategic pacing at the end, specifically at "1.5 Miles To Go," displayed remarkable strength as she improved place in her age division, F40-44. Notably, Brooke moved from 486th position at "2 Miles To Go" to 437th by the time she reached "0.5 Miles To Go." Ending with a division placement of 69 in F40-44, Brooke effectively showcased sustained stamina over the demanding profile of the course. Continued focus on the transition to higher elevations can further refine Brooke's performance.
