Ian made consistent progress in his division, securing 41st place this year compared to 60th previously. Analyzing Ian's splits reveals notable movement through the field. He initially started in 1293rd overall but impressively gained positions to finish 499th. Specifically, his paced slowed substantially above the tree line, reflective of the strenuous elevation, with his longest split in the last mile being 26:26 min/mile. However, Ian's initial splits were strong, particularly his 10:16 min/mile pace at Ruxton. A focused approach to high-altitude segments could further enhance his performance in future races.
