Consistent Middle Performance with High Altitude Challenges Jeremy Nye, 49, from Colorado Springs, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 3:59:39 over a distance of 13.36 miles, achieving an average pace of 17:56 min/mile. Among all 2049 participants, Jeremy ranked 355th overall, 279th among males, and 24th in his age division (45-49). His performance started strong, moving from 1159th at the starting point to achieving a significant leap to 527th place at the Ruxton checkpoint. As he progressed through the race, the increasing altitude and fatigue resulted in a gradual slowdown, particularly noticeable above the tree line during the last three miles. His pace widened from 8:54 min/mile at Ruxton to 23:49 min/mile at the finish. Jeremy maintained a steady performance across the middle stages, showing a consistent placement between Ruxton and the final stretch. A focus on high-altitude training could help mitigate pacing issues in the final miles.
