Consistent Endurance Performance at Altitude Lindsay Greer completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 6:01:40, covering 13.36 miles. At age 40, Lindsay faced a race starting at 6,000 feet and finishing at an altitude of 14,061 feet, experiencing a significant challenge with decreasing pace as the elevation increased. Her overall average pace was 27:04 minutes per mile. Lindsay started strong and placed 267th overall at the start. Her pacing showed initial consistency up to Barr Camp with a steady pace in the range of 11:16 to 22:05 minutes per mile. As the elevation increased past the tree line, splits slowed significantly, notably at the Bottomless Pit, where the pace dropped to 41:49 minutes per mile. The final mile splits showed determination, with a finishing split of 20:40 minutes per mile. There is potential to work on pacing strategies for high-altitude sections in future events to maintain rhythm.
