Steady Ascent Under Difficult Conditions Nicole Ross completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon in 5:33:32, maintaining an overall pace of 24:57 min/mile. Her performance improved significantly as she worked through the course, moving from a starting position of 1732 overall to finishing at 1265 out of 2049 participants. In the F40-44 division, she finished 57th. Starting at an elevation of 6303 feet, she impressively tackled the climb to the 14061-foot finish. Throughout the race, Nicole demonstrated consistent effort, notably making steady progress despite challenging altitude changes. At the "Barr Camp" split, her pace improved to 16:16 min/mile, highlighting her tenacity on the ascent. The particularly demanding final stretch from "1 Mile To Go" to the finish saw longer split times, typical for high elevation altitudes and steeper slopes, with her pace at 37:07 min/mile at the finish. Targeting split consistency at higher elevations could further enhance future performances.
