Steady Improvement at Pikes Peak Ascent Jay Aragon, 61, from Colorado Springs, participated in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon, showcasing a significant improvement over last year's performance. Jay completed the challenging 13.36-mile course in an elapsed time of 6:12:04 with an average pace of 27:51 min/mile. This improved his overall position to 1517 out of 2049 participants. Notably, Jay achieved a better pace compared to his 2024 race, where he finished in 6:28:45 with a pace of 29:05 min/mile, showing remarkable progress. Analyzing the splits, Jay started strong, maintaining a pace of 9:51 min/mile at Ruxton and 13:09 min/mile at Hydro Street. As he ascended higher, the splits show a decline in pace typical of racing at such altitudes, reaching 52:44 min/mile at the finish.
