Beginning with a strong start, David placed 2nd in his division at the initial check and moved strategically throughout the race. Notably, his splits during the first half showed variable intervals, with segments like the Ruxton section at a pace of 11:21 per mile and Hydro Street slowing to 15:49. This variance suggests a solid strategy adjusting to course demands. The latter sections of the race reflected consistent pacing despite the challenges presented by elevation changes and fatigue. In the final miles above the tree line, his pace ranged from 36:49 min/mile at "2.5 Miles To Go" to 43:07 min/mile at the finish.
