Steady Progress and Strong Finish Nick Law, a 30-year-old runner from Denver, CO, recorded an impressive performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent. His elapsed time was 4:06:21, averaging an 18:26 pace per mile over the 13.36-mile trail. Nick climbed from an elevation of 6303 feet at the start to a peak of 14,061 feet at the finish. Notably, he improved his standing throughout the race. He started at place 1272 overall and secured place 416 by the finish line. Nick's split times show a promising progression. At the 0.43-mile mark at Ruxton, he clocked a pace of 10:32, gradually slowing to a 25:34 pace in the final 0.53 miles amid challenging conditions. His strongest climb came between 7.91 and 10.29 miles at a pace of 15:26. Despite fatigue from altitude gain, Nick maintained a consistent pace. Further focusing on pacing in the final kilometers could refine future performances.
