Consistent Performance Despite Altitude Challenges Jason Kaiser completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in an impressive 4:27:40. His consistent performance saw him finish 622nd overall and 37th in his division (O50-54) out of a total of 2049 participants. His pace averaged out to 20:02 min/mile over the 13.36-mile course, a challenging feat given the drastic elevation increase from 6303 feet to 14061 feet. From the start, his placement improved remarkably from 1469th to 511th within the first 0.43 miles at "Ruxton." Throughout the race, Jason skillfully navigated the increasing elevation. His splits show notable consistency: he maintained close pacing from "Barr Camp" at 16:54 min/mile down to "Bottomless Pit" at 22:00 min/mile over less than a mile. The final miles, starting from "A-Frame," saw a gradual increase in split pace from 25:56 min/mile to 27:27 min/mile at the finish. Tactical pacing and elevation adaptation contributed significantly to his impressive overall performance.
