Consistent Climb with Notable Pace Strengths Mark Schenberger completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 2:43:21, achieving an overall place of 20th among 2049 participants and 4th in his division. His average pace was 12:13 minutes per mile over a distance of 13.36 miles. Noteworthy pace achievements include a swift 5:59 min/mile at the Ruxton split, and maintaining a strong 9:57 min/mile pace through to "7.8 Summit" at 9461 feet. Towards the later stages, the increasing elevation presented a gradual pace reduction, with the last mile taking 17:36 min/mile. Mark demonstrated strong endurance and efficiency, particularly in maintaining a competitive position from the start where he significantly progressed from 201st to maintaining a top 30 position before finishing 20th overall. Focus on acclimation strategies for high-altitude sections could further enhance future performances.
