Strong Performance on the Ascent Nicholas Woods completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 5:08:18, covering 13.36 miles at an average pace of 23:04 min/mile. Starting at an elevation of approximately 6303 feet, Nicholas gradually ascended to the peak elevation of 14061 feet. Notably, he maintained a steady position within his age division, finishing 99th out of the overall 2049 participants. Initial splits showed mixed progress, with a swift start at "Ruxton" with an 11:10 min/mile pace but pacing slowed significantly during the latter part of the ascent. His performance at high altitudes, particularly between "A-Frame" and the "Finish", slowed down with split times around the 30-minute mark per mile. Nicholas demonstrated strong endurance throughout, especially past “1 Mile To Go” with a pace adjustment, moving up in his division standings. Continuing to build on split consistency at higher elevations could further refine his overall time.
