Steady Improvement Despite High Altitude Challenges Seth Wohlers, 35, from Colorado Springs, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 4:22:25 at an average pace of 19:38 min/mile. Climbing from 6,303 feet to 14,061 feet over a 13.36-mile course, Seth placed 573rd overall out of 2,049 participants and improved significantly from his previous year’s performance. Notably, his time improved by 39 minutes and 9 seconds compared to 2024, where he finished in 5:01:34. Seth's splits revealed a strong start, initially placing 43rd at the start and gradually adapting to increased elevation, evidenced by his split times slowing as he ascended. Noteworthy progression was seen between 'A-Frame' (3:08:09) to '1.5 Miles To Go' (3:44:45) where he gained substantial positions, improving from 638th to 322nd, demonstrating effective pacing and resilience. Continued focus on managing effort in the latter stages could provide further gains in future events.
